Did You Know?
Wellington boots take their name from Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington, but the original Wellington boots were made from leather, not rubber. Their practical design became fashionable in the early nineteenth century, long before rubber wellies became a familiar sight on muddy walks and in gardens.
